Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is Amazing (And Here’s Why You Need to Read It Now)

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is the best Comic Book that you are not reading. Issues one through three are already on the shelves with more covers than you can shake a stick at. No really, I can not event tell you how many different covers there are and I tried to look it up. IDW and Boom! love to shotgun blast comic book covers and there is no way to track them all down. There have been several crossovers now with both Power Rangers and TMNT in different combos but never together in Comics till now. Power Rangers in Space did crossover with Turtles the next mutation once both owned by Saban but we dont talk about that. Now after this true crossover we never will again.

I am not going to walk through each issue– simply put, you need to read it.  It’s the best thing both Comic Franchises have done in sometime. I would seriously buy this book every month if they made it a regular series. Boom! and IDW, are you listening?!

I want these two working together and against each other all the time. if you think about it the success of TMNT made MMPR what it was in many ways. Most importantly acronyms then the success of MMPR spawned even more teams of super powered kids. They just complement each other in so many ways. The book so far has the best points of both teams. fighting bad guys then fighting each other realizing its a common foes teaming up. There is a very nice formula here and they do it great.

Some spoilers here at the end of issue three. Shredder gets Tommys Power Morpher and powers so basically super shedder with access to the Dragonzord. At the same time the rangers get locked out of their powers and have to fight on there own. Team switch time! Oh yeah, we get the Mighty Morphin Teenage Turtles and Teenage not so Mutant Ninjas. This is at the end of issue three people. We got so more issues on this mini series. You really need to get out there and get these while you can issue one has already went to second print with a black and white cover. Here is some of the amazing art already and the way cool team changes.

If you have not got on this bandwagon you still have time talk to your local Comic Book shop. The fourth issue of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will release on 18 March 2020.

The writer of the book will be at Power Morphicon September 4th-6th in Pasadena CA

These two iconic franchises were my TV parents, each teaching me valuable life lessons thirty minutes at a time. It just makes too much sense!” said writer Ryan Parrott. “A huge thank you to Hasbro and Nickelodeon for letting me play with so many of their wonderful toys, as it is truly an honor to be a part of such an exciting crossover. I’m the luckiest kid in the world, and I cannot wait for you all to see what we’ve been putting together.”

Which means they’ve got every dream team up scenario you can think of jam-packed into the pages of every issue.” said Dafna Pleban, Editor, BOOM! Studios. “Monsters will grow. Shells will get kicked.
